Joining the Admiral Liv AWOL Youth Development Squad for road and mountain-bike disciplines in 2018 is 15-year-old Harley Pell, well known and respected rider from Cycle Club Ashwell.
Harley’s cycling career started off as an 8-year-old, taking part in off-road and time-trial events on tandem bikes with her Dad, but it wasn’t long before she was making a name for herself on her own.
Harley has been a dominant figure on the Mountain Bike Youth circuit in the Eastern region alongside Admiral Liv AWOL’s Lauren Higham, with the pair sharing several podiums. In the 2017 MTB National Series, her first year in Youth, she suffered a series of mechanical and crash-related incidents that ultimately did not reflect her skill level, but was still selected to represent Eastern at the MTB Inter-Regionals. She fared much better in 2016, finishing 7th overall.
For 2018, Harley has decided to also ride on the road for Admiral Liv AWOL, another discipline that has seen her fair well with podium success over the last few years including wins at Guildford Town Centre U16 in 2017 and Letchworth Grand Prix U14 in 2016.
Although she won’t be representing Admiral Liv AWOL, Harley also competes in Cyclo-cross and Grass Track. At this year’s Eastern Regional CX Championships, Harley shared the podium alongside Admiral Liv AWOL’s two other Youth Development riders Iona Moir and Charlotte-Louise McGreevy.
Harley’s previous teams/clubs include: Team Cambridge, Cycle Club Ashwell, and WXC World Racing
She will be riding on Road and Mountain-Bike for Admiral Liv-AWOL.
