Maddie Gammons is a versatile cyclist who races road, time-trial, cyclo-cross and on track, and has been racing competitively for 6 years. During that time she has won the BC Cyclocross National Trophy Series overall title and won 2 silver medals in the National Championships, one for cyclo-cross and the other for road.
In 2017, she had a successful season with top 10 positions in National road races and the Matrix Fitness Women’s Tour Series. Alongside that, she had her first international win on the Klassiker Stage (road-race) at the European Junior Tour of Assen, where she also managed a top 10 on final General Classification. And she has also gained a lot of experience racing in UCI events in the Czech Republic and at the Junior Nations Cup.
She spent much of 2018 focusing on her A levels and not racing as much, but still managed to squeeze in several rounds of the OVO Tour Series, a top 10 at the London Nocturne, Tour de Yorkshire and several others.
When asked about 2018/2019 season ahead for herself and with Admiral Liv AWOL, she said “My aims for this year are to get a good winter of cyclo-cross and base training, in order to return to the form and fitness I had as a Junior. I am looking forward to racing more abroad as it plays to my strengths – flatter, faster racing.”
When she’s not riding her bike Maddie enjoys going out with my family and friends, going for walks and visiting new places. She also loves horse riding (like several of her team-mates at Admiral Liv AWOL) which was her main interest as a child.
Maddie’s previous teams/clubs include: NJC – Biemme – Echelon, Team Vision Innovative Leisure, SF Racing, Bourne Wheelers CC
She will be riding Cyclo-Cross, Road, Track and Time-Trial for Admiral Liv AWOL.
