Last season’s Admiral Liv AWOL Youth Development rider, Lauren Higham, has now moved up to Junior category for the cyclo-cross season and is already making an impact. In fact, having gained enough points at U16 level, she had already started riding with the team on road.
Lauren is another multi discipline rider, having started her career in 2014 with local club Welwyn Wheelers. She has had success in all disciplines, but especially in this last season, and more recently with current cyclo-cross events she has excelled even more.
A previous best on road was bettered this year with a win at Scarborough Nationals U16, as well as top 10 positions overall at both the Isle of Man and the North West Tour rounds of the Nationals. In Mountain Biking, Lauren has been one of the dominant figures in her region, with many 1st place podium spots, including an impressive 6th place at HSBC UK National Cross Country Championships. Further to those her recent exploits in both Cyclo-cross and Time-trialing are not to be outdone. Now at Junior level in cross, Lauren already has 3 wins out of 3 for regional races, and in the first round of the Nationals, she rode to a 21st place (9th Junior overall). And finally, in Time Trial, her highlights include both a 1st at the Women’s Welwyn Hilly Time Trial, and a win at Age 15 level at the National TT Championships. Don’t be surprised if these results are bettered within weeks!
Lauren has the ability to stand out from the crowd, both on and off a race circuit, with her plaited hair and pink welly boats. Although she rarely competes with the wellies on!
Lauren’s previous teams/clubs include: Welwyn Wheelers.
She will be riding on Road, Mountain Bike XC, Cyclo-cross and Time-trial for Admiral Liv AWOL.
