“Admiral Liv AWOL are really pleased to announce that the highly versatile, former ODA member Imogen Chastell is joining the team. A top quality cross, road, mountain bike and track rider who strengthens the team in all disciplines”, declared DS Pat Hayes back in October.
Imogen has been racing since 2012, starting out with her local club Welwyn Wheelers, before moving to VC Londres in 2017. She became a British Cycling Olympic Development Apprentice for 2017/18. As a first year Youth U16 rider, Imogen represented the silver medal-winning Eastern Region Team at the UK School Games and later joined Matrix Fitness in the Revolution Track Series, collecting silver in the Future Stars team competition.
After losing the bulk of the 2018 season when suffering a serious double collarbone fracture and shoulder dislocation in April, Imogen showed her mettle by overcoming such a significant setback to pick up a Bronze medal with partner Eluned King in the Madison at the HSBC National Track Championships in July.
She then went on to impress at the Screentek North West Tour taking 6th overall on GC, before ending her season as part of the victorious Eastern Region UK School Games team.
After a couple of years away from Cyclocross Imogen has enjoyed her first foray into Senior racing this Autumn which included collecting the Eastern Region Junior Cyclocross Championship in her first outing in the colours of her new team, Admiral Liv AWOL.
After the injury affected seasons of the past two year’s, Imogen is really looking forward to training and racing with her new Admiral Liv AWOL teammates throughout the remaining weeks of 2018 and through 2019.
Imogen’s previous teams/clubs include: VC Londres, Matrix Fitness and Welwyn Wheelers
She will be riding on Track, Road and Cyclo-cross for Admiral Liv AWOL.
