Elizabeth started riding a bike at the age of 5 after her grandad took her to get a bike from a shop in Strathaven, Scotland; excited, she proceeded to crash it before they had even left the shop! Having ridden with Hillingdon Slipstreamers since age 5, after discovering an enjoyment for time trialling she began racing competitively as an Under 16, and was excited to join AWOL for the 2018 season and her first season as a junior.
During 2018 Elizabeth explored different disciplines including cross and track, and enjoyed the experience of racing around the country and abroad with her new team-mates. Season’s highlights included riding the Tour Series in front of family in Scotland, winning the Alan Rosner Memorial E123 Race and taking the CTT British National Junior 25 mile TT title by over a minute. Standing on the podium with Hayley Simmonds was a real inspiration.
In 2019 Elizabeth concentrated on Road and TT and worked hard to establish herself in the senior peloton, riding the National Series and Team Series while continuing to race the Junior National Series. Early season was devoted to the Tour Series of which she rode five rounds. In junior events Elizabeth was achieved top ten placings at home and finish the Healthy Ageing Tour UCI Nations Cup on her first attempt. The season ended with a strong ride at her first senior UCI race at GP d’Isbergues in France.
Elizabeth is now looking forward to starting her first season as an Under 23 with AWOL, and is really excited to race abroad as a senior starting in March 2020.
Elizabeth’s previous club was: Hillingdon Slipstreamers.
She will be riding on Road, Time-Trial and Track for Admiral Liv AWOL.
