Completing the trio of new riders in the Admiral Liv AWOL Youth Development Squad for 2018 is the strong and multi-talented 14-year-old Charlotte-Louise McGreevy, who has already posted a string of very successful results for the team in the 2017-18 cyclo-cross season.
Charlotte began her multi-discipline cycling career eight years ago, competing in cyclocross, mountain bike XC, road and even hill climbs! And she has been winning or at least ranking highly in races ever since.
In 2017, at Under 14 National level races on road alone, she took third place overall in the Sleepwell Hotels Isle of Man Youth Tour, ninth for the Screentek NW Youth Tour, 12th at Hillingdon Nationals, 13th at British Circuit Championships, 7th at Ride London Youth Grand Prix and 7th again at Scarborough Cycling festival. And then to follow that, Charlotte took a fantastic 2nd place overall in her category at the prestigious European Youth Tour of Assen, the 6-day event that attracts all the top youth riders from Europe and further afield. That, along with podium results at most local and regional races is an impressive performance.
Over the last few months, Charlotte has been riding for Admiral Liv AWOL during the Cyclocross season and has firmly established herself in the top 10 nationally, with a 5th (at local course Cyclopark round), a string of 8th places at National level and an overall 8th National ranking. Charlotte has won all bar one local and regional cyclocross races this year, and normally challenging herself against the boys’ youth category.
Ranked number 1 in 2017 Juvenile Mountain Bike XC category, Charlotte will continue to represent WXC Word Racing for this discipline, and the team wishes her continued success in this field, where she will find herself riding against Admiral Liv AWOL Youth Development teammate, Harley Pell, in the Youth category.
Not only is Charlotte an accomplished cyclist, but she is also a keen cross-country runner, and this year won the silver medal in the Kent School’s Championships.
Charlotte’s previous teams/clubs include: Team Darenth. Charlotte will continue to ride MTB XC for WXC World Racing.
She will be riding on Road and Cyclo-cross for Admiral Liv-AWOL.
