This weekend has seen a number of cyclo-cross events attended by Liv AWOL riders, mountain biking, and the return from a long spell out with injury for one Liv AWOL rider on the Hillingdon circuit. And podium finishes all around!
On Saturday, 16th September 2017, the Eastern Cyclo-cross League had it’s second outing, this time at Langdon Hills Country Park in Essex. Lauren Higham was again in top form, riding as a junior, but winning the women’s event overall with 5 laps in 41 mins 16 secs. In the Youth category, Iona Moir was third in the U16 group.
New Liv AWOL rider, Sarah Lomas, was in action at the Forme Notts & Derby League Round 2 cross event. Her first race back in a while, finishing 5th overall, and 1st U23.
Back on road at her old home circuit for the Moose.eu Hillingdon Crits was Savannah Hewson.
This is Savannah’s first road race in almost a year due to injury, and a 2nd place podium finish was a great result.
Lauren was out on her mountain bike for the final round of the Eastern Mud Sweat and Gears series on Sunday, confirming her dominance of the category with a win in this event and the overall series in the Youth category. Double podium!
The cross events continued on Sunday as well with the second round of the London cross league, this time at Herne Hill Velodrome, in and around it. And there were plenty of going round, with an concentric circle track to navigate in and out of. Amazed we didn’t have any crashes with dizzy riders spinning out! Iona Moir was riding in Youth U16 and finished second.
Congratulations to all Liv AWOL riders on their successes over the weekend.
